Nitin has passed his Proposal Defence titled "Development and application of membraneless electron microscopy chips", a key step towards his PhD Thesis defense.​

New publications​

Prof. Costa is the new User Committee Chair of the I&C Core Lab at KAUST​​

Amira has passed with flying colors her Data Presentation, a key step towards her PhD Thesis defense. ​

Nitin and Prof. Costa delivered a talk each at the NanoPT2018, held in Lisbon. Nitin was also awarded with a student’s travel grant by the Organizing Committee.​

Mariam and Shianlin joined the LCN for a Directed Research internship. They are both affiliated with the MSE Program.​​​

Arnab has joined us from Graphene Crystal, KAUST, as a Research Consultant (PTSA). He will be working on “Size fractioning of graphene flakes”.
Tamil re-joins the LCN as a Post-Doctoral Fellow after a spell at the WDRC-KAUST.​​

Axel has been admitted for post-graduate studies at KAUST. He will be affiliated with the MSE Program.

Prof. Vaz is visiting the LCN and KAUST as a Guest Lecturer in the MSE301 course. He will be delivering two lectures on Neutron Scattering and a research seminar to the LCN.​

Prof. Pedro gave a lecture on the “Fundamentals and trends of scanning transmission electron microscopy”, at the Materiais 2017 conference, held in Aveiro, Portugal.

Several articles were recently published in collaboration with the groups of Prof. Younis (KAUST), Prof. Bakr (KAUST) and Prof. Datta (JNCASR).​​

​Filipa selected as KAUST’s student envoy to the ACS Spring 2017 meeting.​​

Amira defended her Research Proposal successfully, and now she is a PhD candidate.

A Keynote talk on the “Rational design of graphene-based electrodes for energy storage systems” was delivered by Prof. Costa at the NanoPT2017, in Porto, Portugal.​

Nitin has been selected to attend the 4th edition of the Quantitative Electron Microscopy school in France.

Prof. Costa has been nominated Committee Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry – Chemical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Group and participated in its first meeting, in Keele University, United Kingdom.​
